Abstract: Two new Cs5[{Ln(H2O)4(C2H6O)}{Re6Se9(CN)6}2]·2H2O (Ln = La, Nd) compounds are obtained by the interaction of aqueous Cs3KRe6S8(CN)6 and LnCl3 solutions in the presence of ethanol. These compounds are isostructural, and crystallize in the tetragonal crystal system (space group P4/ncc) with the following unit cell parameters: a = 17.9102 Å, c = 19.6694 Å for La, and a = 17.8846 Å, c = 19.6425 Å for Nd. The structure of the compounds consists of corrugated [{Ln(H2O)4(C2H6O)}{Re6Se8(CN)6}2]5–layers. Cesium cations compensating the negative charge are located in both cavities of the corrugated layer and between the layers.
