Filling the internal cavity of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) with elemental phosphorus and sulfur leads to the formation of chain and linear structures [1-4]. Carbon walls protect the encapsulated components from the external environment and give them specific electronic properties. Filling SWCNTs and extracting encapsulated compounds from their cavities is the direction of their use for targeted delivery of reactive compounds. In this case, the interaction of internal components with the walls of nanotubes plays an important role. In this work, using examples of filling SWCNTs with elemental phosphorus, sulfur and their compounds P4S3, P4S10, we consider how the transfer of electrons to the walls of SWCNTs affects the structure and properties of the material. The morphology and chemical state of carbon and sulfur were analyzed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, XPS and NEXAFS. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed the presence of different oxidation states of P and S atoms depending on the P/S ratio in the initial mixture used to fill the nanotubes.
