Abstract: Two new layered metal-organic coordination polymers [Cd2(CH3CN)4(oFBPDC)2]·4CH3CN (1) and [Cd3((CH3)3СOH)4(oFBPDC)3]·3(CH3)3СOH·H2O (2), containing an octafluorobiphenyl-4,4′-dicarboxylic acid anion (oFBPDC2–) are obtained and characterized by the single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It is shown that on the long-term storage of 1 in air it transforms into another crystalline phase 1a. Solid 1a exhibits ultraviolet/blue photoluminescence caused by intraligand transitions.
