Реферат: This work contains theoretical material and questions for independent study on selected topics in coordination chemistry and represents an English translation of a textbook on this subject. The material is divided into four parts. The first part addresses the electronic structure of coordination compounds based on ligand field theory and molecular orbital theory, with numerous examples drawn from the contemporary literature. This part serves as a theoretical introduction to the description of coordination compounds. The second part examines factors affecting the stability of coordination compounds, considering both metal-centered and ligand-centered contributions, as well as the principal approaches to ligand design. The third part is devoted to reaction mechanisms of coordination compounds in ligand substitution reactions and in redox processes. The fourth part discusses aspects of the synthesis and reactivity of coordination compounds in nonaqueous solvents.
